Functional decorative ceramic ware
I’ve been working with clay since I graduated from high school in 1968 four years later I acquired my BFA in ceramics in Santa Barbara. I took a long hiatus (but I always did clay) before I applied for my MFA at the University of Georgia which I acquired in 1988. I’ve had lots of experience with all different types of clay, ways of firing and methods of building. Right now I’m focused on functional ware that’s thrown and hand built and fired at lower temperatures with red clay and decorative underglazes, decals and colors. I’ve also had extensive teaching experience with all ages and ways of working. For me working in the studio is a life-saving process. It makes me happy, keeps me sane and is an integral part of my identity.
