Originally from Maine, Tara blends the lush familiarity of her New England roots with the striking vistas of her current home in the West. Working primarily in oil, she captures the beauty of Northern New Mexico through expressive brushwork and bold color. Her paintings feature expansive skies, rugged mountains, and vivid vegetation—offering viewers a playful and poetic interpretation of the land. A resident of Abiquiú, New Mexico for the past five years, Tara draws daily inspiration from the surrounding landscape because who wouldn’t? In addition to painting, she restores mid-century modern furniture and explores other creative pursuits that reflect her love for form, material, and design.
