An exploration of wild and domestic informs Mark Ritchie’s most recent works in drawing, printmaking, and artists books. Through interaction and observation of plants and animals Ritchie considers their position, and his own, in Western North America as native, domestic, or “naturalized invasive”. His work is initiated in the field and continued in the studio. He received the B.F.A. degree from the University of Kansas and was awarded the M.F.A. degree in Printmaking from Indiana University. For much of his professional career he taught at the University of Wyoming. Mark currently resides full-time near Abiquiu, NM and exhibits his work both nationally and and internationally.
