Hand crocheted afghans, decorative gourds
Arin Bader is a fiber artist and dry-brush watercolorist based in Abiquiú, New Mexico and Parker, Colorado. She crochets beautiful afghans that are sought after. Her exquisite illustrations can be found on decorative gourds and greeting cards. Arin relocated to Abiquiú after living in Denver, CO, New Orleans, LA and Augsburg Germany. Inspired by her travels and the beauty of nature, she began illustrating the flora and fauna that surrounded her. Her meticulous drawings bring nature to life. She draws inspiration from Native American decorated gourds. After carefully selecting and processing a gourd, Arin begins by drawing an image on the surface. The next steps of burning in and adding color to the image take many days. The result is a unique artwork, surprising in its beauty and detail. Her work graces the homes of collectors throughout the West. Arin and her husband operate a small vineyard, grow acres of hay and provide memorable experiences to Abiquiú area visitors in their guest casita.
