Metalsmith - Handcrafted Sterling Silver Jewelry

For the past several years, I have exclusively selected the Abiquiú Studio Tour for exhibiting my silver work. As an Abiquiú native, my participation in its Studio Tour provides me with a unique and gratifying experience. Each year, I am graced with the freedom to pursue my artistic passions while surrounding myself with the unparalleled natural beauty of my hometown. The joy and satisfaction I feel when hammering, soldering, sawing, and constructing my one-of-a-kind jewelry is undoubtedly among my most fulfilling life experiences. My inspiration for becoming a metalsmith stems from my participation in a scholarship program conducted by the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California when I was a teenager. Immediately after arriving at the camp, silversmithing captivated my attention above all other available media, and I’ve been pursuing that passion ever since. I will be joining Charlie and Debbie Carrillo again this year, both of whom are talented New Mexican artists. We kindly extend an invitation for you to stop and visit with us during the 2025 tour.

BIO Ursula grew up in the Northern New Mexico communities of Abiquiú and Santa Fe, where she was taught to honor her New Mexican heritage and local traditions. She attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts with an emphasis on Small Metal Casting & Construction. In 2006 she moved to San Francisco, California to attend the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts where she continued her studies in jewelry design and construction under the instruction of master jewelers. She received her Jewelry Technician Diploma while attending Revere, in addition to several Masters Symposium Certificates. Ursula spent ten years living in California in both San Francisco and Los Angeles before returning home to Northern New Mexico in 2016, where she currently lives and works with her husband and creative partner Jason Jordan in their home studio.
