The Abiquiú Arts Council Education Scholarship Fund helps students and community members access meaningful learning opportunities in the arts. Our goal is to uplift creativity, expand art education access, and support individuals as they grow their creative skills. Learn more below and apply below.
This fund is rooted in our belief that creativity strengthens community. Through flexible, needs-based support, we aim to reduce barriers to art education and help nurture the next generation of artists, makers, and creative thinkers.
What the Scholarship Can Be Used For
Scholarship funds may be used for a wide range of art-related educational needs, including (but not limited to):
- Art classes or workshops
- Tuition for arts programs or courses
- Art supplies, tools, or materials
- Registration fees for educational programs
- Other learning opportunities related to creative practice
Applicants do not need to be professional artists to apply. Students, emerging artists, and lifelong learners are all encouraged to apply.
Flexible Funding & Case-by-Case Review
There is no fixed scholarship amount. Applicants are invited to request the amount that would meaningfully support their educational goals.
How applications are reviewed: The Abiquiú Arts Council board reviews each submission thoughtfully and fairly. Each request is considered based on impact, need, and available resources. Awards are made on a case-by-case basis. Award amounts are determined based on:
- The purpose of the request
- Available funds
- Overall community need
In some cases, we may be able to award the full amount requested. In other cases, we may offer a partial award. Partial awards may still help offset costs and make educational opportunities more accessible.
