Bold Joyful Oil Paintings
When I moved to Abiquiu, my wonderful neighbor Jaye traded me oil painting lessons for computer lessons. At that time, I did not have hobbies and was all work. What she taught me was more than how to paint but how to enjoy life to the fullest in your eyes. Whether that is painting, restoring homes, or refinishing old furniture, make sure to do what brings you joy, and in return, your brain will thank you! (And you might just create something beautiful along the way!) Northern New Mexico holds a beauty unlike another in my opinion. The way the roads curve and the clouds almost seem to put on a show, sprinkle in the sloping mountains and colorful foliage, and it’s almost like a cherry on top! My hope is that I can capture even one percent of this beauty on a canvas, and that your eyes become alight with the joy that my eyes have seen over the years of journeys with my husband. Don’t forget that’s the whole point! You will never find joy if you can’t find it yourself. My painting is to bring joy, so please enjoy!
