An exploration of “wild” and “domestic”, made through interactions and observations of plants and animals, and a consideration of their position in Western North America as native, domestic, or “naturalized invasives” informs Mark Ritchie’s most recent works in drawing, printmaking and artist books. He received the B.F.A. degree from the University of Kansas and was awarded the M.F.A. degree in Printmaking from Indiana University. For much of his professional career he taught at the University of Wyoming. Mark currently resides full-time near Abiquiu, NM and exhibits his work both nationally and internationally.
