I was 6 feet tall by the time I turned 12. That summer, I slept for 2 months straight but when I finally woke up, the pains in my legs were gone. So I began moving furniture. My high school ceramics teacher gave me a piece of plywood and an x-acto knife and showed me how to cut the plywood for relief printmaking. Years later, I figured out how to print the cuts. My first attempt was inking the wood and then having someone drive a car over the inked wood on paper. This technique had mixed results. mostly bad. But all things are in some form, a state of becoming…. I tune and repair pianos and reed organs, raise chickens, turkeys and quail and am currently working on a book of woodcuts about the process of leaving nature to go drive a car.
