Artist-owned. Iconic adobe dome. Curated wonder.
Abiquiú Dome is a beloved landmark gallery and shop nestled near the heart of Abiquiú. Housed in a distinctive adobe dome inspired by 6th-century Byzantine architecture and built in 2006 by students from Northern New Mexico College’s Arches, Domes & Vaults program, the gallery showcases striking Southwestern-inspired metal art by owner Connie B. Burkhart alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of work by nearly 20 artists and artisans.
Co-owner Becca Fisher helps shape the gallery’s artistic vision while bringing her own creative perspective to this mother-daughter venture. Becca’s small-work acrylic landscape paintings are inspired by the colors, spirit, and quiet beauty of Northern New Mexico. Her work explores moments of wonder found in everyday scenes, inviting viewers to pause and connect with the landscape.
Together, Connie B. and Becca have created a welcoming destination where visitors can discover original art, handmade goods, and meaningful keepsakes that reflect the spirit of the Southwest. Serving as both a gallery and gathering place, the Dome celebrates local artists while inviting visitors to explore the gallery, linger in the outdoor spaces, and connect with the artists behind this unique creative destination.
