Drawings & Paintings from Nature
Although I have worked in other genres (including classical figure drawing and portraiture, plein-air painting, and children’s book illustration), most of my current work is botanical art or natural science illustration. The features of my subjects from nature inspire me to portray them with spirit and accurate attention to detail. My media include graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor, and occasionally ink or silverpoint. I also enjoy teaching these drawing and painting techniques to adults and teens at all levels.
