Spanish Colonial and Southwest Woodwork
In my early days as an artist, I did mostly drawing, painting, and ceramic sculpture, but when I moved to New Mexico, I fell in love with woodworking. I mostly use pine, cedar, maple, and occasionally black walnut. Pine is excellent for carving and cedar is so beautiful and aromatic. My inspiration for what to make often comes from the wood itself.
